Lawrence Paper Company

Who:
Established in 1882, Lawrence Paper Company has partnered with companies to design, manufacture, and deliver corrugated box and retail displays to meet today’s market needs.  They combine structure, dependability, and aesthetics to bring the best ideas to their customers and provide them with complete packaging solutions to support their business goals.
Lawrence Paper Company is comprised of three distinct production facilities centrally located in the Midwest (Lawrence and Hutchinson, KS and Fremont, NE), Lawrence Paper Company has the scale and reach to service customers large and small.

Products & Services:
LPC can apply various coatings directly to the paper on our corrugator to enhance moisture control, anti-abrasion, and anti-rust characteristics. We also can add sesame tape at the corrugator to increase strength and durability. By utilizing ASTM/ TAPPI testing standards, ISTA regulations, and TOPS software, our team stays up-to-date with the latest advances in the packaging industry.
By developing concept drawings, 3D renderings with graphics, and prototypes with mock up graphics to ensure that the customer is getting exactly what they want before it is produced. By assembling, packing and warehousing all in one place, LPC is a one stop shop.
LPC sources their paper directly from Georgia Pacific International Paper (7,000 pallets in the last 3 months).
LPC has about 15,000 accounts with 25,000-30,000 active products.
Types of Corrugation:
◦Singlewall – A, B, C, and E flute
◦Doublewall – AB, CB, CE, and AE flute
◦Singleface – A flute
Markets:
The LPC team has experience working with major retailers like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, and Petsmart. They understand the different requirements that each brings and the considerations that must be made to develop the right product for their customers to make the item “pop”.
Forming/Cutting/Joining:
The Isowa Falcon in Lawrence, and Ibis in Fremont, have run speeds that are among the fastest in the industry.  For larger pieces, the Engico large format flexo/folder/gluer can accomplish tasks that once required multiple machines. LPC has the ability to glue a large variety of packaging designs, including those with snap-lock bottoms, inserts, 6-point trays, and multiple glue joints. In addition LPC also uses CNC machines such as the Kongsberg XL44.
Finishing:
-Printing
LPC can print up to five separate colors via flexography printing presses. By utilizing tinted paper capabilities, a sixth color can be added.
To ensure consistency of the customer’s product, LPC uses an on-site ink kitchen with high printing standards that can work with a four-color CMYK graphic or a simple spot color print.
-Labeling
The Automatan labeler can add full-size or spot labels to a display or package allowing for a greater depth of image, higher resolution and stronger impact to consumers.
Automatan Capabilities
•Large format labels, up to 82” x 65” in size
•Faster run speeds to improve responsiveness to customer needs
•Greater quality control
